We have replaced all Genuity pops with UUNET. We now have close to 5000 high speed dial up Internet access locations, USA and Canada.Jan 19, 2002
We should be going live third week of January.Dec 4, 2001
I am sorry that everyone has waited so long. We are still waiting on the completion of one final piece. The good news is we have brought Intel onboard which will be setting up our radius servers to work with Qwest, UUNET, and Broadwing as the backbones. It will be worth the wait as we will be bringing you quality access at a very reasonable price of $12.99/Month for unlimited Internet access. In a few areas we will only be able to offer 200 hours a month instead of unlimited Internet access. That works out to close to 7 hours a day of Internet access. 200 hour accounts are on the UUNET - Qwest backbone. You will not be billed extra if you go over 200 hours, your account will simply stop working until the next month. Unlimited Internet access accounts are on Broadwing backbone. If you find that we don't yet have an access number for your area code, please check back on a monthly basis as we are adding new dial up locations all the time. Once again our apologies, but we are now powered by Intel to provide you with what we believe to be the best dial-up Internet access currently available at any price. We will be setup for V92 as soon as our partners make it available. There should be one more post here before we launch January 1st.Nov 9, 2001
I was hoping this post would be announcing the launch the of our Internet access. The Zubee realm is in place and ready for launch, but there are still a few programing bugs to work out. Please keep checking back, we should be up in a week or two. It will be made compatible with Windows XP soon after.Oct 3, 2001
Sorry, our programers have not finished all the scripting work. I am told at the latest it will be two more weeks before we are able to launch.Sept 12, 2001
We could be up Sept. 18, 2001. The Zubee realm is in place and ready to go. Our official launch will be Oct. 3, 2001.Aug 23, 2001
We have great news! We will also be offering Broadwing!!! We will now have over 2400 dial up locations to start. Our goal is to become the best ISP service in North America. We can now accomplish that as we we will be on some of the best, high speed fiber optics networks in North America: Qwest, UUNET, and Broadwing. We believe they currently offer the best dial-up access in North America. Stay tuned for further announcements.Aug 17, 2001
Sorry, we have had one more issue pop up with regards to the addition of the 500 extra pops. Our goal is to launch by September 2, 2001.Aug 3, 2001
There is a very good chance your Internet access will be ready early next week. It is our understanding that Qwest is set up for the new V92 modems. UUNET could follow. We will be able to offer V92 as soon as they both make V92 available. For your information: CNN.com - Are dial-up networks endangered?July 20, 2001
We have added 500 more pops, but it is taking longer than originally planned. Sorry it is taking so long to setup your Internet access. We may still launch Aug 1st, 2001!!June 28, 2001
We are sorry for the delay. We should be up August 1, 2001. We will be using @zubee.com for your pop email accounts. In the future as we continue to grow, we will make available freeoceans.net, go1net.net, and also possibly popfire.net pop email extensions. Users that will be on the system will get first choice of new email extensions as they become available.Get ready for the next generation of dial-up access. If you are going to upgrade your modem, buy the next generation V92* modem. This is a cable and DSL killer!! As some of you may already know, DSL is not all that they promised. With the new modems and when all our pops get switched over, you will be able to answer the phone while on line as well vary the speed of your access. You may not need to pay for expensive cable or DSL Internet access anymore. Read more about it here: http://www.usr.com/v92/.

We finally have a contract in place. We would have preferred to offer a free ISP service again, but with ad revenues still dropping this was not possible. Most of the free ISP services that are still out there, we think are not making any money, and could go out of business soon. Some have already starting switching over from a free ISP to a paid ISP service. It looks like they may not be able to continue to receive funding to support a free ISP service. This is the best possible pricing we can give for a premium ISP. People should be very happy with the speed of their Internet access. We have also been testing the Internet access connection times, which seem to be very quick, and access is granted on the first attempt. We are still a little unsure if your Internet access will be ready on the 1st of the month.March 12, 2001
It looks like the launch date will be around May 1, 2001. Thank you for your patience.February 10, 2001 February 10, 2001
We have sourced a high speed dial-up network. We will have close to 900 POPs. The service will come with newsgroups plus two POP email accounts, and 5MB personal web space. We will add more POPs as more fiber optics cable is installed. This service will be just as fast as the one that we were using through 1stup.com, and even more reliable. Users will not be stuck on the UUNET or ATT network, which we have chosen not to use. We hope to offer a special trial price of $19.95 for two months. This will be a quick friendly download, 24/7 tech support, and no banners. We will offer the service at $12.99/Month. This is not the cheapest on the Net. You get what you pay for. We believe in only offering a quality product under the Zubee! Free label. We hope to announce a launch date at the end of the month. We are still hoping we can find a good free ISP to offer under our label.

The company we were dealing with has apparently backed out of a tentative agreement to provide free Internet Access to our Network, as we have not heard back from them, after signing a contract 4 weeks ago. Our Network currently receives 1000 free ISP searches a day. We were well on our way to surpassing AOL in terms of subscribers within two years, based on our growth and sign-up rate, in the 4 short months we were providing the service. A free ISP model would have worked, based on what we were seeing before CMGI pulled the plug. CMGI owns Alta Vista which looses money.
We are pushing up the schedule for the launch of our paid service which was due to launch in the summer of 2001. We will try and have the paid service up in the spring. This is the same Network used by AOL, Microsoft, and Earthlink if we go with this ISP provider. The pricing should be in the 12 to 15 dollar range unless we find a better Network provider. We were offering free voice mail and disk space though 1stup. If you would like to partner with us and provide a value service to our network, please contact us at: webmaster@visp.st . We are always looking to explore another good free ISP service as well, but under our label.
Thank you for your patience.
